The Korean company Hyundai neither confirmed nor denied the possibility of supplying vehicle kits for its cars, which will be assembled in Russia under the Solaris brand

Let us recall that the former Hyundai plant in St. Petersburg was sold to the Russian company “Art-Finance” for a nominal price with the option of buying it back. Not long ago, its subsidiary AGR Automotive Group announced the resumption of work at the plant, which will now produce a car under the Solaris brand. At the moment, the company has several tens of thousands of vehicle kits that will be used to assemble four models: Solaris HS, Solaris HC, Solaris KRS and Solaris KRX. These are the redesigned Hyundai Solaris, Hyundai Creta, Kia Rio and Kia Rio X, respectively.

It is not yet clear how involved the Koreans are in restarting the plant, but the possibility of supplying kits is at least being considered. If this does happen, Hyundai and Kia will be able to supply parts through neighboring countries to circumvent their own sanctions.
