The Italian company Ferrari has published images of a new racing supercar called 296 Challenge. The car's debut will take place at the end of October at the Mugello track as part of the Finali Mondiali

The Ferrari 296 Challenge was designed to participate primarily in the Ferrari Challenge Trofeo monocup and actually replaced the Ferrari 488 Challenge Evo. The car's design is based on the road-going 296 GTB coupe, but the V6 engine was borrowed from the 296 GT3. Despite the fact that the donor has a hybrid power plant, the 296 Challenge did not receive an additional electric motor, but is content with a 3.0 liter biturbo 6-cylinder engine. The developers achieved a record power for the engine – 700 hp. and 740 Nm of torque. In addition, outstanding performance is achieved thanks to the aerodynamic body kit. It is said to generate downforce equivalent to 870 kg at 250 km/h.

Also noteworthy is the presence of the latest Evo Track adaptive ABS controller, which can more effectively distribute braking forces between the rear wheels. Moreover, the car gets CCM-R Plus carbon-ceramic brake discs and special Pirelli tires with 19-inch center-lock wheels.
